Cane Seats/Backs Replacement
When you have a chair which has cane on the seat or back that breaks we can replace the cane with new cane and color and lacquer it to match the original.
Cane generally cannot be fixed. It must be replaced. There are two types of cane: hand cane and machine cane.
Hand cane is the original type, it’s woven by hand one piece at a time. It takes a long time to weave it onto the chair seat or back and therefore costs more to replace than, machine cane.
Machine Cane is attached using a large pre-woven piece of cane and is attached to the chair seat or back with a spline that locks the cane into a groove that was carved around all sides of the seat or back. This type of replacement costs less than the hand cane.
